Forest Bistro
John has had an extensive, exciting career from starting out at 14 under the mentorship of talented Chefs, working in primarily white table cloth French restaurants leading to the opening of his own restaurant when he was 18. John’s experiences includes working as a Chef at sea on a live-aboard yacht, The William Tel and various other fine dining establishments. After being a part of Domaine de Chaberton’s award winning Bacchus Bistro since 2004, he privately catered events and parties before moving to the Sunshine Coast with his family.
For over a decade, Jessica has worked and managed in the hospitality industry on Vancouver Island. Her passion for eating delicious food, trying the wines of the world and providing an exceptional experience paved a more than fitting road for her future with John.
For the last two years, John and Jessica have been running the Modern Peasant and, with the onset of the pandemic, have shifted their offerings into the dynamic space of the old Westview, now Forest Bistro & Lounge. You'll likely end up seeing them walking their big fur baby and spending most waking sunny moments at the lake with the kids.
